On February 14th, we honored our technology policy champions at the CompTIA Tech Champion Awards dinner at Fly-In. The Tech Champion Award is given to one member of the House of Representatives, one member of the Senate, and one executive from industry who has exemplified leadership in the technology sector and have championed policies that advance the country's information technology (IT) industry. This year’s CompTIA Tech Champions are New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, Texas Representative Will Hurd, and North Carolina businessman Ron Culler the 2017 CompTIA Tech Champions.

This week, CompTIA held its sixth annual 2017 CompTIA DC Fly-In. Joined by our Fly-In Partner, the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA) and some 20 different state tech councils, there were more than 140 technology executives and business owners representing 29 states who attended the two-day event on February 14 and 15.

Each year, CompTIA advocacy members meet to network and hear from speakers on emerging federal and state policy and governance issues impacting the U.S. tech industry. CompTIA’s 2016 National State Government Affairs (SGA) and State and Local Government and Education (SLED) meeting was held November 15 to 16 in Nashville and offered a range of sessions.
