On January 22, James Stanger, CompTIA senior director of product development, moderated a panel of three IT pros on the topic of cybersecurity. Titled, “The State of Security 2017: A Report from Experts in the Field,” the group discussed uptime and critical systems, justifying the cost of cybersecurity and making the most of limited budgets and strategies for combatting cybersecurity breaches and attacks.

Earlier this month, CompTIA hosted its sixth annual D.C. Fly-In, in partnership with the Technology Councils of North America. More than 140 technology executives and business representing 29 states gathered in Washington, D.C., to discuss technology issues including the IT workforce, cybersecurity, apprenticeships and more.

On January 22, U.S. travelers heard the unwelcome news that all domestic United Airlines flights had been grounded due to a computer glitch. According to Reuters, flights were only grounded for about an hour. Having skilled IT pros on hand to select the best equipment options, configure them properly and keep them running is becoming more and more important in every organization because operating in an always-connected environment means that service disruptions can have a serious impact.
