CompTIA Statement on Trump Administration’s Commitment to the American Worker Executive Order

Jul 19, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C. – CompTIA, the world’s leading technology association, released the following statement from CompTIA’s executive vice president for public advocacy Elizabeth Hyman in reaction to the Trump Administration’s executive order focused on addressing urgent workforce issues:

“As an organization long focused on building America’s tech workforce, we welcome the Administration’s pledge to improve training and skills development throughout a worker’s career. Investment in employees always brings back great returns.

"IT job postings in the first quarter of this year grew by 13 percent over last year and represented more than 10 percent of all open jobs across the country. Tech needs workers. With our historic low employment rates, it will require creativity, ingenuity and the disruption of hiring norms to build a vibrant pipeline of talent. Every day that we shine a light on the American worker and the role he or she can play in tech jobs is a good day for our nation’s economy and future.”
