CompTIA Launches CompTIA Cybersecurity Advisory Board (CCAB)

May 1, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C. – CompTIA, the world’s leading technology association, has launched the CompTIA Cybersecurity Advisory Board (CCAB) to address many of the most pressing cybersecurity concerns facing businesses and government.

The council, consisting of cybersecurity professionals from a variety of disciplines, will identify methods in which CompTIA can develop specific cybersecurity initiatives that advance our nation’s cybersecurity readiness. The CCAB will also identify gaps in the cybersecurity ecosystem that CompTIA might consider filling given our strengths.

“As our society becomes more digitally connected, cybersecurity becomes even more crucial,” said Todd Thibodeaux, CompTIA’s president and CEO. “Business, academia, and government leaders of all stripes are concerned about attention to cybersecurity in terms of available resources, availability of a skilled workforce, and focus in the C-Suite or leadership positions to meet cybersecurity threats. The growth of smart cities and IoT will only accelerate the trend, and it is incumbent upon us as one of the nation’s largest technology trade associations to invest in finding meaningful solutions.

“CompTIA has long committed significant resources through industry leading research, professional workforce certifications, state-level outreach on procurement initiatives, and advocacy to address many of nation’s cybersecurity concerns. With the contributions of the CCAB, we intend to make the focus of those resources even more impactful,” Thibodeaux added.
