When manpower is low, artificial intelligence (AI) can help bridge the gap. As new technologies evolve, AI will be able to help companies determine which ones are worth investing in.
"Most companies today don't know how much to spend on cybersecurity and how to spend it," Stanger said. "I think we need AI to help provide metrics, so that as a CIO turns around and talks to the CEO or talks to the board, and says, 'Here's the money we need and here are the resources we need,' and have the true and useful metrics to justify those costs."
