Robert (Bob) Faletra, an active and influential member of the IT channel and 25-year advocate for the industry will be inducted during CompTIA’s Annual Member Meeting into the 2014 class of the IT Hall of Fame.

Faletra influenced and supported our industry through a variety of publishing and executive management roles with the former CMP media group. Considered one of the top experts in the indirect technology field, he has advised solution providers, vendors and distribution professionals on many crucial issues over the years. Faletra helped many IT channel companies build and strengthen their partner programs and played an instrumental role in a number of industry-enhancing initiatives. His work and relationships in the solution provider community have always been top priorities in his life and he proudly served on the advisory boards of several high tech startups, including myVBO LLC, MergerTech Advisors and the M&A Forum LLC.

In his various roles at CMP, Faletra offered advice and created a host of programs to help IT providers and vendors get a solid start and go on to thrive. In summary, he has made a significant and positive impact on the channel and his induction in the Hall of Fame recognizes his efforts and support of our community.

A Storied Career

Faletra began his professional career working for several startup publications, eventually becoming a daily newspaper reporter. He joined CMP in 1988 as a senior writer for the industry magazine Computer Reseller News (CRN) and worked his way up to editor-in-chief. That role gave Faletra the opportunity to assess the needs of solution providers, vendors and other channel professionals, and he used that information to drive new editorial and partner development tools within the organization. Later, as president of the CMP Channel Group, he continued his strong channel advocacy and was ultimately appointed CEO of UBM Tech/Channel. Faletra is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and resides in the Boston area.

Please join us as we welcome Robert Faletra to the IT Industry Hall of Fame. A formal induction ceremony will take place during the awards reception and dinner on Tuesday, April 1, at the CompTIA Annual Member Meeting. All guests are invited to attend, so register today!
