CompTIA’s first D.C. Fly-In is just around the corner, and we hope you will be able to join us in Washington, November 1-3. This event gives you a rare opportunity to meet with your Members of Congress, staff and officials from pertinent government agencies, while also learning about CompTIA’s advocacy efforts. Registration is available online.

CompTIA member Linda Lynch understands the importance of getting involved which is why she will be in Washington, D.C., on November 1st for the CompTIA D.C. Fly-In. Lynch is president and CEO of KI Technology Group in East Lansing, Mich., providing managed services and IT consulting to small businesses throughout mid-Michigan, with a particular focus on non-profit associations.

“Without a doubt, decisions made by our lawmakers affect our businesses and frequently frustrate us as we struggle to deal with new regulations,” said Lynch. “In the past, I have tried to ignore politics as much as possible – in part because I feel completely powerless to have any effect on what happens beyond casting my vote during our elections. As I have learned more about CompTIA’s advocacy efforts, I have discovered that, while my individual voice may go unheard, I can add my voice to those of my colleagues and together we can have a greater impact than any of us can alone.”

“As I begin participating, I also realize that I need to be educated on the issues that affect us all so that I can be a more effective partner with CompTIA’s Public Advocacy Office,” added Lynch. “I’m looking forward to attending the D.C. Fly-In this November and being a part of this important effort.”

Whether you are a political novice or a political junkie, the CompTIA D.C. Fly-In will provide you with a golden chance to broaden your advocacy horizons, all the while learning about the political process and how it affects you. If you would like to join Lynch and other CompTIA members for the D.C. Fly-In, November 1-3, register online. If you have any questions, please contact CompTIA Public Advocacy Manager Matthew L. Evans. We hope to see you in November!
