Today we unveiled the new certification.comptia.org website, a complete source for everything you have ever wanted to know, and more, about CompTIA certification. The site includes basic exam information like what is on the exam, pricing and other certification information previously found on the main CompTIA.org, and adds new IT job role and career planning tools.

The new Explore Careers section includes information on IT career paths, with an interactive chart to guide IT pros through the certification landscape. Which Certification is Right For You? highlights the various CompTIA certs and matches them to skill level and areas of expertise. There is more information on how government agencies, businesses and educators use certification and all the benefits of hiring certified IT pros. Plus, social media and sharing is a big part of the site. Visitors can tweet or share any content on the site with a single click.

The site also includes certification news and updates. In additional to traditional press releases, this area will host certification blog content, updates and other certification announcements.

The exam information on the site also is improved with more information on job roles for each certification, detailed steps to certification that breakdown the complete certification process and a new section on Becoming a Subject Matter Expert that includes a featured subject matter expert. The Training and Testing section takes the information that candidates need to prepare for the exam, including training, study materials, exam objectives, sample questions and exam pricing and simplifies it.

The main association site still will provide information on membership, channel education, business credentials, association events, research and public advocacy. CompTIA corporate members still can access their benefit information through the Member Resource Center.

To celebrate the launch of the new site, we are hosting a virtual scavenger hunt on Facebook and Twitter. Participants can surf the site to answer questions and win cool prizes like Bose headphones, FLIP video recorders, CompTIA grills, and the ever-popular CompTIA Facebook fan t-shirts. The contest starts May 2 and runs through May 15. The grand prize winner, announced on May 17, will receive a MacBook Pro. For more information, like CompTIA A+,  CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ on Facebook and follow CompTIA certification on Twitter.
